Q: What are the listing requirements?

A: The requirements are fairly simple:

• All links must be for legitimate websites with a TLD or top level domain, no free-webs or sub-domains will be accepted.

• All site content must be family friendly with no top-level links to any non-family friendly sites. (If I would not want my children seeing your site, it is not family friendly).

• Website to be listed must be its own entity - no sub-sites, blog links, sub domains, etc.

• Listing must be in English and the corresponding website must be in English or contain an English variation.

• Hate based, violence, bomb making, terrorist recruiting or thinking, hacking, illegal drugs and warez types of websites will be rejected.

• Sites with links to nudity are allowed, provided that the nudity is considered art, or for educational purposes and is not porn. BestBizGuide editors will be the final judges on the artistic issue and that is final.

• Websites that contain blatant copyright violations will be rejected.

• Websites selling cigarettes will be rejected, however, cigar and pipe dealers are permitted, so long as cigarettes are not in their catalog.

• Any site considered to contain illegal content will be rejected.

• Any site deemed as "Google Ad Words Optimized" or advertising optimized may be rejected - we try to keep our directory listings up to date with sites offering valuable content and Ad Words is not considered content. Google Ad Words advertising is okay in a site, but a site built specifically to display advertising will be rejected.

Q: I cannot find a correct category for my listing, what do I do?

A: Just submit your listing to the "X-Queue New Category Needed" category (the last category in the list). This will place your link in queue and we will find and or create the best category for you. You may also use the "Suggest a Category" feature, but you will still need to submit your link to the X-Queue.

Q: How can I add a listing?

A: When you are in the category you want to list in, just click on "Submit Link" at the top of the page and follow the instructions. If the category you want does not exist, find the closest category and select "X-Queue" from the category list and we will find and/or create any new categories that are needed and then we will add your listing.

Q: Do you have any tips for good listings?

A: The best listings contain the most relevant search information, such as city, state and zip code. Also include a short description of your business, being as concise as possible. Be sure to include your key words in the description to help with searches as well. Remember, people will not always look for your listing in the directory and will most likely search for it from the search bar. They will use keywords along with state and city names for local searches. Keep your descriptions short and to the point – proper capitalization is good practice.
 

Q: How much are featured listings and how long do they last?

A: BestBizGuide Featured listings run $12.95 each and list for 6-months. A 12-month featured listing is 19.95 A featured listing gets a guaranteed top-4 exposure in it's category. This means that your featured listing is guaranteed to be one of the first 4 listings on the first page for your category. After the 6-12 month period, the listing will automatically convert to a standard listing. You may also submit your listing to the ISEDN directory partners, for less than $12 dollars per 90-days, per keyword. Your ISEDN listing will be included in over 300 partner directories! Q: How long will my listing remain in the directory?

A: All listings (except featured listings) are lifetime listings. Listing are only removed if the site becomes unavailable, or the site's content no longer meets our requirements. Paid listings through BestBizGuide will default to standard listings when the paid term expires.

Q: What can get my listing removed?

A: Simple - See above. BestBizGuide does monitor all link submissions and current links. Violations may be given notice if a minor problem. Major violations will be removed immediately - including paid featured listings. So, if a link changes from say a school supplies website to a Porno site, it is gone. We have a link reporting feature too, so if someone finds a broken or inappropriate listing, it can be reported to the editor.

Q: Can I get a refund for my featured listing?

A: Yes, if the listing has not yet been approved, or is rejected. No refunds are issued after a listing is approved.

Q: How do I remove my listing?

A: To have your listing removed you will need to contact the editor info[at]bestbizguide.com and request it. You will be required to verify the site name, URL, and the email originally used to submit the link. Removal requests can take up to 30 days.

Q: Do you allow multiple listings?
A: No. Due to overwhelming abuse, we no longer allow multiple listings.

Q: What is your privacy policy?
A: BestBizGuide respects your right to privacy. BestBizGuide never sells, rents or by other means gives your information to third parties. When you enter your email address on the listing submission form, or provide your contact information for a featured listing, you can be assured that BestBizGuide will never release this information to anyone, unless legally required to do so.

Q: Will I be put on an email list after submitting my site?
A: In a word – yes. But, unlike many other directories, BestBizGuide will not spam you. BestBizGuide emails are only to verify listings, notify of expired listings and notification of accepted and rejected listings. BestBizGuide will send newsletters every two weeks though.
 

Q: I submitted a listing that was approved, but it is in a different category that I submitted to. What happened?
A: Most likely an editor changed the category to one more suitable. We try to keep our listings in logical categories. Best Biz Guide will edit listings for the correct category and sometimes spelling and capitalization errors.

Q: How can I have a question placed here?
A: Submit your question using the Contact Form and someone will respond. If we determine that the question could help others it will be posted here.
